Salvation

Would you like to start a new life ?

I may not always remember why I walked into a room, what I had for dinner last night, or even where I parked my car when I come out of the grocery store, but I will never forget the day I accepted Jesus into my heart. I was and am forever changed by Him. He is my hope and my salvation. No matter what problem I face I am not alone. The same God that parted the sea and gave a young boy the courage to face a giant; stands with me.

Many people think of God as a cruel taskmaster just waiting for us to make a mistake so He can punish us. There is nothing farther from the truth. From the beginning of the Bible to the end there is a common thread that runs throughout its pages; God continually striving to reconcile mankind to Himself. John 3:16,17 says "16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved." God is not cruel, but a loving Father, doing everything to show us, mankind, the way back to Him. Paul in his first letter to the Thessalonians in chapter 5 verse 9 and 10 puts it this way "9 For God has not appointed us to [incur His] wrath [He did not select us to condemn us], but [that we might] obtain [His] salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) 10 Who died for us so that whether we are still alive or are dead [at Christs appearing], we might live together with Him and share His life." God loves us and wants us to spend eternity with Him as citizens of His Kingdom.

Sin separates us from God and the Bible is clear that none of us are without sin. The prophet Isaiah tells us (Isaiah 64:6) "6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." At our best we fall short of the glory of God and that we are enslaved and separated from God by sin. Romans 3:23 "23 for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; " We all miss the mark and none of us is without sin everyone of us fall short. Thank God that this is not the end of the story, and that He is not willing to lose any of us. This is the unconditional love of the Father. Romans 5:8 "But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. " Salvation is by grace while we were still sinners Christ died for us. This is not something we earned or deserved, but the love of a Father. Our deeds were deserving of death, but instead God cleared a path for us to be reconciled to Him. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. This is the gift of God, God's plan is simple; accept the gift He is offering you. Accept that Christ died for you and confess your sin to Him. Ask Him into your life, that's it. Romans 10:10,9 9 that if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Still don't think that God can forgive you? Stop and think about this, The religious leaders mocked Him while he hung on the cross saying "He saved others let Him save Himself". The soldiers that nailed Him to the cross also mocked Him. What did Jesus do? He said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do". If Jesus can have that kind of compassion for those who nailed Him to the cross, If He can forgive them He WILL forgive you.

Need some help? This is often called the sinners prayer by men, but I prefer to call it the victors prayer because it will take you from death to eternal life.

Lord Jesus I need you. I need you in my life, I need your guidance, I need your help. I turn my life over to you, I don't want to live one more minute without you. I want to become a citizen of your Kingdom.

Lord I believe that you died for my sins and on the third day was resurrected, ascended into Heaven and now sit at the right hand of the Father. Lord forgive me of my sins and remove my shame that I may have a personal relationship with you. Lord continue to reveal yourself to me and teach me your ways. God put the right people in my life that we may encourage each other and grow in our knowledge and our relationship with you

In Jesus name I pray

Amen
